As we age, our bodies change and we often face medical challenges. Chronic and acute illnesses can affect one's physical, mental, and emotional approach to life. Living with the effects of a sudden stroke, ongoing arthritis pain, cancer treatments, multiple sclerosis (MS), back pain, and a host of other struggles can make life a little less comfortable. Adaptive therapeutic yoga practice offers an alternative and complementary therapy to rebuild strength and resilience.

 

The YogaReach Active Aging therapeutic yoga class supports a wide array of class participants as they adapt their bodies to changing lifestyle needs. Class instruction includes a diligent focus on breath work, gentle yoga poses with supports, meditation techniques, and group socialization.

 

The YogaReach philosophy was developed as a result of our founder's own health trauma. As a stroke survivor, Char learned that by uniting thought and action she could improve and rehabilitate her physical and mental abilities. The highly individualized program she created focuses instructor energy on supporting individuals at their own pace with specific adapted movements to help individual rehabilitation. Such skill enhancement can change lives and nourish souls beyond the need for further rehabilitation interventions.
