I'm honored to co-author Sports, Exercise and Slowing Parkinson’s Disease alongside Dominique Prins-König. This book brings together our shared passion for empowering people living with Parkinson’s through movement, mindset, and meaningful connection.

Drawing from over two decades of work in mindful movement and therapeutic coaching, I’ve worked closely with individuals navigating Parkinson’s — guiding, learning, laughing, and moving together. Their strength shaped my perspective. Their stories fill the pages of this book.

This isn’t just a guide to exercise. It’s a call to stay connected through movement, to find power in presence, and to unlock joy while defying Parkinson’s.

This is a sample of Chapter 28:

This chapter has highlights how yoga offers tailored movements that address the unique challenges faced by individuals with Parkinson’s. These individualized, adaptive therapeutic poses and breathing improve all areas commonly impacted by the condition, plus slow down symptom progression.

Yoga also helps alleviate stiffness, reduce tremors, and enhance motor control through mindful movement and increased body awareness.

Char, read your chapter. Beautiful stories and sentiments. Wonderful benefits for PD. What is resonating is how mindful movement/yoga should Not just be another form of “exercise”. It really should be something more! That brain/body connection, breath work, meaningfulness, etc.  Again, congratulations!

I just read your chapter in the book. It is so beautifully written. I am so proud to have you as my friend and mentor. Reading your written story made me a bit weepy. It is so beautiful to read where you were, and how you recovered and the gift you created with YogaReach. Absolutely incredible. Aly
