YogaReach Attends Columbus Parkinson's Boot Camp!
The Columbus Parkinson’s Boot Camp, presented by OhioHealth was held on May 6, 2017 at the Hilton Polaris. “Delay the Disease”, an evidenced-based fitness program designed for people with Parkinson’s Disease organized the program. The Delay the Disease program compliments OhioHealth’s continuum of neurologists and neurological rehabilitation specialists. David Zid and Jackie Russell, began the program, and have been partners in Delay the Disease since 2006.
The Inaugural Boot Camp brought together persons with Parkinson’s disease, carepartners, OhioHealth volunteers, Delay the Disease staff, Physician presenters, and exercise specialists. Three breakout classes rotated and close to 100 people participated simultaneously in each class. David Zid lead Delay the Disease, Miriam King ran the Dance for PD class, Char Grossman, taught YogaReach Mindful Movement classes and Jackie Russell conducted a CarePartner Seminar.
What a great day! Education, exercise, support and empowerment were a wonderful part of this community event!
